Ranch Hand Rescue
Ranch Hands Rescue is a 501 (c) 3 non-profit with two facilities in Argyle and Denton, Texas specializing in treatment of severe traumas that don’t respond to traditional therapies. Through our Animal Sanctuary we rescue animals that have experienced the worst abuses and neglect that no one will take and most thought should be euthanized. We rebuild the human bond, and then give them a purpose here at Ranch Hands Rescue through our Counseling program. We utilize animal assisted therapy to allow severely traumatized children, battered women, vets; and many other mental health issues heal where other therapies failed.
Ranch Hands Rescue is the first of it’s kind. While there are thousands of shelters for abandoned pets like dogs and cats, but very little for farm animals. Our mission has been to fill that void. We go out of our way to save the lives of our animal partners. We’ve put the first ever horse in a prosthetic, the first heart surgery on a sheep, surgery on a donkey to remove cancer on his eye, the first ever healing of a horses tendon with stem cell treatments, among others. Ranch Hands Rescue has grown beautifully and well beyond our wildest expectations. We continue to meet challenges daily with newfound grace and in confidence God chose us for this work. As long as there are children in need of therapy and abused animals in need of a home we will continue to do what we do. However, we cannot do it alone. The needs go beyond regular care; we currently have 28 children on a growing waiting list for chance to get back their life. Many of our animal partners need medication and constant visits to the veterinarian for check ups and progress reports. Together we can give these innocent victims an opportunity to get back what is rightfully theirs, their dignity. Visit our
