Junior Humane Society / United Humanitarian
The Junior Humane Society is a non-profit, all volunteer, animal rescue group. For the past 29 years, we have taken in owner released pets so they won't be taken to the pound/animal shelter.
All animals waiting for adoption are placed in foster homes. Before placing the animal in a permanent home we provide all necessary vet care, including but not limited to shots, spaying and neutering.
For the past 28 years, the Junior Humane Society has taken in lost, abused, neglected, abandoned, and owner surrendered pets - as well as dogs and cats from local shelters. All animals waiting for adoption are placed in a safe, loving, comfortable place to live, play, sleep and socialize until they are placed in a permanent home. JHS provides all necessary medical treatment during the time the animal is in our care. Our desire is to further serve the people in our community through volunteer opportunities and to provide educational material, especially to our youth. We believe that working together, we can one day put an end to animal overpopulation and 'kill shelters'.
Since we do not have an actual "SHELTER", we hold pet adoptions on Saturdays. The FIRST and THIRD Saturdays, we are at Petsmart on Davis Hwy in Pensacola, Florida and the SECOND and FOURTH Saturdays, we are at PetCo on Airport Blvd in Pensacola, Florida
from NOON - 4 PM.
