Mitchell Park, located in the northwestern portion of the City, is named after the second
Mayor and is considered to be the “future gem” of the park system. The land for the
park has been acquired through several parcel acquisitions over the past 20 years,
beginning in 1979, to provide a major community park for this rapidly growing area of
the City.

It features a pet exercise area where the dogs can run off-leash on a huge expanse of grassy field.
