In 2009, for the first time ever, Lower Merion Township’s Department of Parks and Recreation adopted a pilot off leash dog program in two parks, one of which was West Mill Creek Park. People began to bring their dogs for some much needed off leash play. The program was a huge success and became a permanent program the following year.

Off-Leash areas: Dogs are permitted from Sunrise until Sunset seven days a week. Dogs must be kept on leash in the parking area and entrance trail until inside the park.

West Mill Creek Park is Lower Merion Township’s only sunrise-to-sunset off leash dog park. We encourage everyone to preserve this precious resource for us and our dogs by complying with the Township’s off leash permit program.
