Sunset Park
Sunset Park was an undeveloped site when it was purchased in 1971 from John Fery, Wanek Stein, Paul B. Larsen, Dan Johnson, and Neil Labrum. Now, the grassy park features mature shade trees, open play areas, a softball field, tennis courts, basketball court, play equipment and picnic tables.
Of the 10 acres, 4.3 acres are available for off-leash use during designated hours. The approved area is the open field on the west end of the park defined by the tennis courts and sidewalk to the west, the sidewalk on the south, and the property lines on the west and north end of the park. There are signs with maps identifying the approved area installed at the park for user reference.
Dogs are allowed off-leash in the designated area in the mornings only, from sunrise to 10:00 a.m. Dogs must be on a leash at all other times during the day.
Dogs and their owners should be sure to follow the City's leash ordinance going to and coming from the dog park, and follow the Dog Off-Leash Rules and Regulations while visiting the park.
