Mission Statement
• To create a fenced-in, off-leash dog park where well behaved canine citizens can
exercise in a clean, safe environment without endangering or annoying people,
property or wildlife.
• To develop a beautiful well maintained space open to dog lovers and friends who are
willing to uphold the park’s rules and regulations.
• To view the park as a community project in partnership with city and county
residents designed to satisfy the needs of dog owners and non-dog owners alike.
• To promote and develop education, training and activities which facilitate
responsible dog ownership.

Smith Lake Holding Pond has a nature trail forming a loop around the Pond. In front of the Pond is a charming quiet mini park called “Strawberry Hill”. There are two creeks that empty from the Pond that flow through the City and are on either side of the Park. This area was involved in the historic 1941 Flood.
