Paws of Wakulla
Paws of Wakulla, Inc., previously known as CHAT of Wakulla is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, charitable corporation committed to improving the health, safety, and well-being of cats and dogs in Wakulla County. We are a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Our Articles of Incorporation were filed on August 8, 2001. Our roots are in the former Wakulla Humane Society, an organization that had been active for over 30 years.

Paws is a community organization and invites you to become a member if YOU care about:
dogs and cats and their well-being,
the safety of your family and neighbors,
providing input to county and state government,
reuniting lost pets with their owners via Facebook,
educating the public on proper pet ownership,
preventing cruelty to animals, and
Improving the quality of life in Wakulla County.
Our Mission is to prevent cruelty and improve the health, safety and well-being of cats and dogs in Wakulla County.
CHAT monies are derived from membership dues, donations, fundraisers and grants and are carefully managed and reviewed at each monthly board meeting. Funds are used to purchase items such as:
• dog and cat food for Seniors’ Pets Meals on Wheels Project,
• spay/neuter assistance,
• educational programs,
• rewards and
• and the required Licenses, insurance and administrative expenses.
