Leon County Humane Society
The Leon County Humane Society has been a trusted voice for pets and people for over 50 years. Donate or get involved to help us continue our mission of compassion in the Tallahassee and Big Bend areas!
Formed in 1960, LCHS has since been dedicated to matching families with homeless pets and educating the community about responsible pet ownership, including spaying and neutering. Each year, LCHS rescues over 600 animals and provides assistance to pet owners in the form of spay/neuter vouchers and pet food. LCHS is active in the community and leads humane education efforts in Tallahassee. Our dedicated Board of Directors, advisors, staff, and over 600 volunteers work tirelessly to socialize and provide companionship to all of our animals.
The Leon County Humane Society (LCHS) is a 501(c)3 non-profit, private organization, supported by individuals and businesses in our community and strong partnerships with other animal service organizations and animal welfare alliances.
We are not affiliated with or funded by any national humane groups or governmental agencies and must rely on donations to bring our services to the community.
