The Stockton Animal Shelter is the only municipal shelter for the City of Stockton and the majority of San Joaquin County. The shelter serves as a central location for dog licensing and City of Stockton Animal Control Operations.
The Stockton Animal Shelter works with many different rescue groups, fosters and a collaboration of Animal Control and the Animal Protection League that operates as Animal Protection League (APL).
The Shelter is continuing to grow their relationships with many rescue groups both locally and in surrounding areas to better serve the San Joaquin County community.
All adoptions include spay/neuter surgery, current vaccinations, microchip with registration, and animal license within the City of Stockton or San Joaquin County. All animals adopted from our facility are required to be altered.
