The land just west of Universe, between Ventana Village Road and Ventana Hills Road, was unsuitable for building because of a large outcrop of basalt, and was designated for park space. The rocky terrain is challenging for a traditional park as well, but it makes a perfect place for dogs to run and explore. The windblown sand also supports native plants that have grown up spontaneously. Those plants were kept in place to provide natural vegetation that thrives without extra watering. Bring your dog and enjoy the park!
