Biscuit Acres Dog Park was built by the Southside Rotary Club with @ $100,000 of tax-deductible donations to the Southside Rotary Foundation. Biscuit Acres opened to pooches and their owners on June 6, 2009. Since opening, the park has provided thousands of hours of play for dogs, and an outdoor sanctuary for their owners. Biscuit Acres is something “Tulsans” Can Be Proud Of!
Biscuit Acres is where dogs bring their people: In 2012 it was ranked # 24 U.S.“Best Dog Parks” by the national publication “Dog Fancy” Magazine and in 2016 one of the top 5 U.S. dog parks by the NBC Network TV Show “The List” .
Some of the park’s features:
Visitors can enjoy and relax on quality benches and park tables
Separate sections for small and large dogs over and under 30 pounds
Each section has a water fountain and hydrant for the dogs covered by shade sails
Several large shade trees, a shade structure, lush grass and large boulders for sitting/climbing
“Poop” bags and metal scoops are provided free of charge to dog owners
Five double gate entrances are available for visitor and dog safety
Three red metal biscuit shaped cash boxes available for donations from park goers
Admission to Biscuit Acres is FREE. The 2.5 acre dog park is open to the public from 5:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. every Wednesday through Sunday. The park is closed for maintenance every Monday and Tuesday. All breeds of dogs are welcome at the park, but dogs must be at least 6 months old and must be spayed or neutered to interact well at the park. A complete set of rules is posted at the entrance and inside of the park.
