Animal Aid – Spay & Neuter Center
Since 1977, the Animal Aid & Spay/Neuter Center has provided low cost pet health care services including spay & neuter, vaccinations, general medical treatment, grooming, and boarding. Clients come from the surrounding counties and GA to receive affordable health care for their pets. The center has broad-based support, serving the community and groups with special needs.
The Center also has a very active adoption program that finds homes for pets who are brought in by clients and good samaritans. If it were not for this program, these animals would find themselves homeless, facing abandonment, or possible euthanasia.
Since its opening on March 13, 1977, Animal Aid has had an unwavering commitment to reduce the overpopulation of pets and to provide affordable health care to pets in our community. The Center's foremost concern is to prevent the suffering that comes from being unwanted. Its goal is to help animals who have no voice. Everyone involved in this program knows that if a pet can be spayed now, there will be fewer homeless pets that are killed by automobiles, starve to death, or euthanized.
One unique feature of this business is that its board of directors is composed of volunteers who have worked on a daily basis for years, providing guidance & management support without compensation.
Everyone who uses the Center, whether he or she simply buys a collar, or has a pet neutered, provides the necessary support to perpetuate this vital program & insure its continued existence. Every dollar allows the Center to do more for those who want to give their pets good health care, but do not have the financial resources to do so.
