​Who We Are

Pet Adoptions of Cuero is a non-profit animal shelter in Cuero, Texas, built on the dedication of individuals that saw a need and knew they couldn’t just sit idly by. Since 2012, these individuals have not only created a permanent shelter, but the all-volunteer staff oversees shelter operations to ensure all pets receive adequate food, water, medical care, and socialization. In 2012, we became a bona fide 501c3 non-profit, and Pet Adoptions as an organization has been growing ever since. Pet Adoptions has always been and will remain a volunteer-run organization, with no paid employees, to ensure that the focus of our staff is always only on the welfare of the animals.

We are constantly taking dogs and cats that are picked up by animal control, getting them up to date on vaccinations, and caring for them until we can find them the perfect forever homes.

Adoption and Visitation hours are 8 am to 12 noon every day except Sunday. To accommodate potential adopters, we also show animals by appointment for almost anytime time of the day or week. We encourage potential adopters to call and set up times that are convenient for both themselves and shelter staff, so that you will have plenty of time to really get to know our animals before picking out your new furry friend!
