The term “sassy sisters” doesn’t even begin to describe Serena and Venus; they may just be your perfect doubles match!

Forgive the tennis puns, but these adorable Chi-Doxie mix girls have loads of spunk and personality, and at the age of 7, they’ve still got lots of “LOVE” to give – and plenty of energy to run around the court. Or hold it, as two such queens just might.

Love bugs who are adept at cuddling, the simple act of handing off a treat will win you ace-level loads of affection. In fact, Venus and Serena prefer the company of people to that of other dogs, so they would be best as only pets – but really, they might wonder, why would you need anyone else?!

Any family lucky enough to have these two ladies would be Grand Slam winners, for sure.

This handsome senior may be one of the most-beloved residents at the Richmond Animal League, but they’d all be happy to see him find a forever family with whom to spend the rest of his happy life.

Affectionately known as “Uncle Havvy,” Havoc enjoys near daily outings with his best human friend, but can’t wait to find a home to call his for the rest of his happy life.

Havoc seems to get along well with other dogs, but wouldn’t be overly fussed if his future is filled with canine companions. Honestly, some of those young whippersnappers are a little too much for him! He’d rather have a billion tennis balls and a stuffed toy to chew on. (Ask him about the time he “accidentally” stole a teddy bear… twice!)

Havoc is a happy-go-lucky boy with no concept of his own age, and thanks to a grant from the Grey Muzzle Organization, he’s gotten all the medical care he needs. He’s active, and loves going on walks and car rides to the park.

Havoc’s weekend trips to Petsmart are attention-filled opportunities for him to steal the spotlight and he loves it! He would do well in a home with a family to dote on him. He might do better with more mature children, since he’s a big boy, but he really does love every person he meets. He is not recommended to a home with cats. He does love other dogs, especially ones his own size, but a slow introduction would be best since he’s a little hard of hearing.

Grumpy old men? HARDLY!

These two sweet, old boys are brothers. And because their family was moving, they have found themselves in rescue at the age of 12. We are SO HOPING we can profile the lucky person or people who gives these sweet Labrador mixes their forever home. As soon as possible, in fact!

Mario and Jack are presently in the care of the West Valley Humane Society in Caldwell, ID, a brand-new grantee of the Grey Muzzle Organization, which graciously helps fund the care of senior dogs in rescue. As they spent their lives in an outdoor environment, Mario and Jack are not presently housebroken – but they are working on it, and with the help of a belly band and consistency, the folks at the rescue say they will pick it up quickly. Who says you can’t teach old dogs new tricks!?

Both are leash trained, friendly and playful — even with young children (how Lab of them!). Moderately active, they lived with two cats and are, as you can imagine, strongly bonded with one another. Adopted together, the fee will total $80 — a pittance for pups who enjoy running, playing, fetch, tug-o-war, walks and drinking plenty of water.

Both seem to be afraid of thunder – but we think whoever adopts them can cuddle those fears into submission.

This 9-year-old girl is a calm, loving pup who sadly — through no fault of her own — has been bounced about to several homes recently. Her last family gave her up when they were moving and now she is in the care of Lollypop Farm in Rochester, NY.

Staffers there say Daisy does the cutest little wiggle when she gets excited. She loves to be outside where she can bask in the sun and get in lots of good “sniffs.”

Would you look at those piercing eyes and that sweet smile?

Hunky Harley, 7, is looking to live the good life in Missoula (or wherever you live)! The folks at the Humane Society of Western Montana have enjoyed repeat grants from the Grey Muzzle Organization to help handsome older dogs like Harley get the care (and eventually the forever homes) they need.

Harley isn’t just a pretty face, though. He’s spunky, loving and goofy, an easy goin’ fella who’s always down for a trip to DQ for a pup cone! Harley seems to be good with what we consider the trifecta: kids, cats and dogs! He weighs about 65 pounds.

From the staff: “Harley is the BEST! He is super friendly and has gotten along with everyone who comes his way. He loves to play with dogs and we took him to an adoption event with tons of kittens and he was totally fine with them! His eyes will make you fall in love at first sight….”

Come meet Mr. Blue Eyes during the shelter’s open hours: Wednesday – Friday, 1-6 p.m. and Saturday – Sunday, 12 – 5 p.m.!

Being deaf and partially blind didn’t keep Max, a 17-year-old blue heeler, from keeping a lost child safe after she’d gone missing in the wilds of Australia, eventually aiding in her rescue, as well.

Police have honored him for his role in the positive outcome.

Little Aurora went missing on Friday, vanishing into the wilderness of rural Queensland. An emergency crew was out looking soon after, but couldn’t find her location. She remained missing throughout the rainy night.

Max, however, kept her good company — and perhaps warm — and helped lead Aurora’s grandmother, Leisa, who had heard the child’s cries, to her location.

Max, described as half-blind, was hailed a hero by police. He was proclaimed an honorary police dog on their Facebook and Twitter feeds.

Aurora was in good shape, suffering only a few scratches during her ordeal, and was in high spirits, as well.

Emergency Services Coordinator Ian Phipps told reporters for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation that Aurora was discovered more than a mile from home.

“The area around the house is quite mountainous and is very inhospitable terrain to go walking in, so she’d traveled quite a distance with her dog that was quite loyal to her.”

Read on for a little more about this cute, little pupper…!

BIG FAN OF: Being near her people. She’s not necessarily a lap dog, but she does love to hang out with you as much as possible. She’s a very sweet and friendly girl.

NOT A FAN OF: Loud noises, including thunder and fireworks. She is also not fond of cats or sharing her living space with other dogs, so she needs a home without them.

SPECIAL FEATURES: Patty is a great mix of busy and chill. She is energetic for an older dog but after some exercise she’s happy to relax with you. She loves walks, exploring, soft beds and food. She does great on a leash. She’ll be a sweet, fun friend for a lucky family!

OTHER REASONS SHE’S SPECIAL: Patty has a heart murmur, which may require medications, extra vet visits and additional diagnostics throughout her life. She has also been identified as having abnormally dilute urine, meaning she will need to go to the bathroom more often than the average dog. We have run tests but are unable to determine a cause. Doodle times two!

That’s what some lucky adopter’s going to get with Max and Ben, two bonded Labradoodles who were relinquished to the Delaware Valley Golden Retriever Rescue in Reinholds, PA. This adorable pair of seniors — Max is 10 and Ben is almost a senior at 6 — is waiting for its forever home as a cheery, fluffy team.

Thanks to a grant from the Grey Muzzle Organization, Max and Ben got all the specialmedical care they needed. Max even went through Lyme treatment and is doing really well! He still shows a bit of stiffness, but that doesn’t stop him from enjoying his walks.

Ben is a big, handsome boy that has some obedience skills — but will benefit from a refresher course. Both like to play and chase tennis balls.

DVGRR thinks that Max is part cat because he loves to rub his head against people’s legs and grooms his brother, Ben!
