PHOENIX– The Arizona Humane Society has launched a new program aimed at helping pet owners who are struggling to keep their animal.
Whether the pet is out of control or owners just cannot afford to keep an animal anymore, the AZ Humane Society wants to help. Their new
“We don’t want it to be this process of, come on down and turn over your pet and leave here broken hearted,” said spokeswoman Bretta Nelson. “A lot of times these people just want resources. They want to know what options are out there for them.”
In matters such as purchasing pet food or providing advanced medical care for an animal, Nelson said the AHS wants to work with Valley pet owners as much as possible.
“We’ll have a medical specialist on hand as well as a behavioral specialist that will really talk through the decision with people and get to the core root of why they need to give up their pet,” she said.
