Meet Ponzu and Ichimi the adorable dog and cat who behave like father and daughter

An adorable kitten who was rejected by its mother has found a new owner along with a loving golden retriever who has helped to nurse the abandoned kitten back to health.

Ichimi the kitten loves her new doggy friend Ponzu and the furry duo have become practically inseparable and even nuzzle one another as they sleep.

Ponzu and Ichimi’s owner Jessiepon posted pictures on her Instagram account of the two playing together and of Ponzu cleaning and caring for Ichimi.

Boredpanda.com reports that Ponzu mourns the loss of another kitten Wasabi whom he and jessiepon rescued from a crow attack and who died in August. Ponzu was happy to welcome Ichimi, the new feline addition, to the family.

Even though cats and dogs becoming friends may seem like a rare occurrence, paternal relationships like the one between Ponzu and Ichimi are actually quite common says Boredpanda.com.
