Ready for double the love? Meet best buddies Sebastian and Willie, who sadly came to Lab Rescue when their owner passed away.

Sebastian is a 10-year-old yellow male cock-a-poo and weighs in at 22 pounds. His best friend, Willie, is a 9-year-old black Lab who weighs 77 pound (he could stand to lose about 5-7 of them!). Healthy boys all around — current on vaccines and heartworm negative — they’re current with shots and looking for a new family to love.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

The folks at Lab Rescue have limited potential adopters to those living in single-family homes with fenced yards in a suburban neighborhood or rural area to give them the best shot at a successful forever home.

Both these boys are affectionate and LOVE to get attention. They both like to retrieve and if one gets the toy, the other will steal it half the time! They enjoy one another’s company, of course! Willie likes to go exploring and Sebastian follows closely behind and if there is water nearby they will find … and go swimming! They would like a family that has a fenced yard and will give them the love and exercise they need. They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together.

A playful pair, they’ll do best in a single-family home with a fenced yard.

Sebastian and Willie are reported as house- and crate trained and will let you know when they need to go out. They walk best with an easy-walk harness. Sebastian and Willie know several commands including “sit,” “come” and (sometimes) down!

Thanks to a grant from The Grey Muzzle Organization, Lab Rescue of the LRCP is able to provide Sebastian & Willie all the TLC they need until they find their forever home. For more information, Lab Rescue’s Available Pairs page.

Important to note,

LRCP adopts to the following states only

: Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, West Virginia, Delaware, Washington, D.C. and North Carolina.

They’re handsome, healthy and well behaved!

So often we hear of dogs abandoned to rescue when their people gave them up, but that’s not the case for either Harley or Zoe. Each of these sweet girls ended up at the Asheville Humane Society when their humans passed away and they had nowhere else to go.

Although they are from separate homes — they are not a bonded pair — we thought it would be nice to showcase these beautiful senior girls side by side in the hope that someone out there will open heart and home for one or both!

Snuggly Harley is looking better every day as her skin condition heals. Now she needs a new family to heal her heart, too!

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Harley is 9. Her person died earlier this month and she came into the shelter when no one else wanted her. She has a skin condition, but thanks to a grant from the Grey Muzzle Organization, it is healing nicely! She is bright, happy, affectionate and — as evidenced by her leopard-print pillow — clearly confident of her status as princess! Staffers here find her one-up, one-down ear quite fetching. They say she’s been excellent in play groups with other dogs and would make a terrific playmate. Surely you can fit another 40 pounds into your family, right?!

Sweet Zoe would make a cozy, calm addition to any family. She has lots of love left to give.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————–

Zoe, 12, is a shepherd mix who came in quite sad following the loss of her special person but the AHS’s volunteer groomer gave her the full spa treatment to get her feeling great and looking pretty for adoption! She said that Zoe was the sweetest dog ever for her bath. Zoe is trusting, friendly, calm and cooperative. She loves attention, petting and walks nicely on the leash. She is a sweet, serene senior just looking for a warm bed and a loving home in which to spend her Golden Years. Will you be her forever family?

Those interested in either of these silvery sweethearts should reach out to the Asheville Humane Society.

“Jenny, Jenny … you’re the girl for me!”

We’re showing our age with that classic, ’80s-song quote, but this sweet 11-year-old girl really WILL give you something you can hold onto: a gorgeous, sweet, affectionate companion who will love you for the rest of her days.

This lovely West Coast beauty is available through Peace of Mind Dog Rescue in Pacific Grove, CA, and she’s waiting there to meet you.

Jenny, who weighs 48 pounds, is house-trained, quiet and, say staffers, wants nothing more than a comfy place and your comforting presence. She was found as a stray in a rural area and was probably an outdoor dog who had only one meal per day. But she has quickly adapted to an indoor lifestyle and, of course, breakfast as well as dinner!

Jenny has a mild thyroid condition which is easily managed with medications. She was also found to have a low grade mast cell tumor. It has been removed and did not appear to have spread, but she will need an adopter who is okay with monitoring her skin growths for life and having them removed if necessary.

Thanks to a grant from the Grey Muzzle Organization, she received all the medical care she needed and currently has a clean bill of health.

Jenny was never leash trained and will need some ongoing help. She gets along very well with other gentle dogs and is very submissive. While she’s interested in squirrels, she shows no prey drive.

To sum it all up, she’s a gem! Please consider giving her the home and family she so deserves. For more info, visit POM Dog Rescue’s adoption page!
