Healthy Pumpkin Dog Treat Recipe

Unfortunately for many veterinary practices, the holiday season can bring with it an increase in visits from dogs with intestinal maladies. Many people are unaware that the rich festive foods so many dog owners enjoy during the holiday season are not always safe for canine consumption. Often times, well-meaning guests and dog owners feed their dogs holiday treats with good intentions, but this result in just the opposite by making the dog sick.
This holiday season, be prepared by stocking up on vet-approved, dog friendly snacks you can grab when you want to give your dog a special treat.
These homemade frozen pumpkin treats will certainly do the trick!
Vet Approved Frozen Pumpkin Dog Treat Recipe
Ingredients:
1 15 oz. can puréed pumpkin (fresh baked will do as well) but NO sweeteners – do NOT use Pumpkin Pie Filling!
1 ripe banana
1- 1 ½ Cup plain yogurt (no flavor or sweeteners)
Directions:
In a blender mix pumpkin purée, banana and plain yogurt.
Fill ice cube trays or molds and freeze until solid.
Once frozen, remove from the mold or tray and store in an airtight container in the freezer.
